Entry requirements
Selective status and the school’s priority criteria are separate parts of admission.

Ordinary entry requires Bexley selective status. A separate Kent-test route has additional conditions; contact Beths before relying on it.
Outside the normal age group?
Exceptional entry up to one year early requires successful study in Year 6. Boys born 1 April–31 August 2015 may also be considered if Reception was delayed and they remained out of cohort throughout primary school.
The Bexley Selection Test
- One test for four Bexley grammar schools
- Two timed multiple-choice papers covering verbal ability and comprehension, numerical reasoning and non-verbal reasoning.
- Score weighting
- Age-standardised total: verbal ability and comprehension 50%, numerical reasoning 25%, non-verbal reasoning 25%.
Bexley confirms selective status and top-180 status. The 2026 thresholds and exact early-October result date are not yet published. Selective status alone does not guarantee a place.
Where you live
Distance gives priority after the higher categories, and ranks the Pupil Premium pool.

- Where the child lives with their main carer for most of the Monday–Friday school week. Proof of residency is required.

How to apply
Test registration is separate from your home council’s secondary school application.
Beths’ supplementary form closes on 30 October, one day before the CAF deadline.
Register with Bexley
Register for the shared test by 31 March and retain the confirmation email and SA reference.
Take the allocated test
Attend the test session assigned by Bexley. Read the official selective and top-180 result in early October.
Send relevant claims to Beths
Return the school’s supplementary form and supporting evidence by 30 October.
Apply through your home council
Name Beths on the CAF by 31 October, in your true preference order. The council sends offers on 1 March 2027.
Places & priorities
How places are allocated
192 Year 7 places. The ordinary priority order applies to Bexley-selective boys.
EHCP placements come first
Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) naming Beths must be deemed selective and are admitted before ordinary places are allocated.
Looked-after and previously looked-after boys
First priority, including the policy’s qualifying adopted children formerly in overseas state care.
Bexley top 180
Boys officially identified by Bexley as achieving one of the highest 180 scores.
Siblings
A sibling must live at the same address and attend Beths at enrolment.
Children of permanent staff
A parent must be employed by Beths on a permanent contract at application.
Up to 12 Pupil Premium or free-school-meal places
Eligible Bexley-selective boys at application, ranked by nearest distance.
Remaining places
Nearest home-to-school distance.
Equal distance and final ties
Distance identical to 0.001 mile is broken by the higher selection-test score. The policy does not state a final rule for equal distance and equal score; ask admissions if this affects your application.

Use the right school form and evidence for your child’s circumstances.
Beths supplementary form
Return it by 30 October for sibling, permanent-staff, Pupil Premium/free-school-meal or Kent-test claims. Beths must also be named on the CAF.
Pupil Premium and Kent evidence
Provide council or primary-school free-school-meal evidence where applicable. A Kent-route claim also needs the Kent result email.
Residence evidence
Provide proof of the child’s main home address when requested.
Test access arrangements
Requests and professional evidence went to the primary school by its final spring-term day. The headteacher’s supplementary evidence was due by 30 April. This did not replace test registration by 31 March.
