Outside the normal age group?
The school considers requests outside the normal age group. Applicants are ranked alongside others under the same admissions criteria.
The entrance test
- One testing round
- GL multiple-choice Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning, plus school-set English reading and writing.
- English marking threshold
- Normally top 700 in age-standardised Maths/Verbal Reasoning, including ties; top 900 for looked-after and Universal Credit/Free School Meals applicants.
English is added and scores re-standardised for the final ranking. Music and EHCP applicants use the top-700 threshold.
Test format and marking
Maths and Verbal Reasoning are 30 minutes each. English reading and writing are 30 minutes each. All are taken on one day; the final ranking can move up or down after English is included.
Tests can be taken once at the start of Year 6. The school does not offer re-marks.
Where you live
Ordinary admission requires an Inner Area main address by 7 January 2027. No included postcode has preference over another.
The policy expressly exempts qualifying looked-after applicants in one section but conflicts elsewhere. Ask the school before ruling out this route.

Moving home or shared care?
The main address is where your child ordinarily spends weekday nights. With separated parents, use the usual home from which your child attends primary school. Equal shared care must still establish the main Inner Area address.
Applicants outside the area when registering must provide evidence of a new Inner Area address by 7 January 2027.
Application route
How to apply
Test registration is separate from your home council’s secondary school application.
Submit the school SIF
Register through Applicaa+ and upload evidence for any priority or SEND arrangements. A music application needs a separate form.
Attend your assigned test day
Bring the photographic ID specified in your invitation. Contact the school about illness or another reason you cannot attend.
Read your results
Maths/Verbal Reasoning results are due before the end of September; final results including marked English before the end of October.
Apply through your home council
Name Latymer on the CAF. Check your home council’s deadline; Enfield’s is 31 October.
Confirm your Inner Area address
If moving into the area, send residence evidence by 7 January 2027. Your home council sends the eventual school offer.
Places & priorities
How places are allocated
192 Year 7 places, including EHCP admissions. Ordinary priorities apply in this order.
Separate EHCP route
Your council consults the school and must name it in the plan. The policy requires Inner Area residence, top-700 Maths/Verbal Reasoning and marked English for selectivity; there is no numerical cap.
Looked-after and previously looked-after children
Top-900 Maths/Verbal Reasoning, with English then marked. Includes the specified internationally adopted group; no numerical cap is stated. Confirm the Inner Area exception.
Up to 20 Universal Credit/Free School Meals places
Inner Area applicants within the top 900, with English marked. Places follow final test rank.
Up to 20 music places
Inner Area applicants within the top 700, with English marked and separate music evidence. The school selects music places.
Remaining Inner Area applicants
In final test-rank order.
How are music places assessed?
Any instrument, including voice, can demonstrate musicality. The school may audition up to 32 applicants and ranks auditioned candidates for up to 20 places; a candidate may receive a music place without audition.
Auditions are held in October, with the individual appointment set by the school. Submit the separate Music Form and evidence through Applicaa+.
How are equal scores decided?
For an identical final score within a category, first priority goes to Pupil Premium applicants within the top 900 who have not received that category’s place, then music applicants within the top 700 who have not received a music place, then the nearest home using council measurements.
The policy gives no further rule for equal official distances. Ask admissions if that tie applies.
Waiting list and appeals
The ranked waiting list holds up to 50 applicants until 31 December. A late CAF preference or relocation can change the list. The policy asks parents to lodge a normal-entry appeal within 20 days of the council’s refusal notification.

Music form and evidence
Complete the separate music form and upload evidence of musical standard.
SEND and test-day ID
Declare SEND on the SIF and provide supporting evidence. Bring the photographic ID required in the test invitation.
